It is best practice, to perform and record pre use vehicle and equipment inspections, to ensure the item you are operating is not only safe for the operator and public.
This course can be tailored to cover items such as HGV's, LGV's, Vans, Pickups, fleet vehicles, plant and equipment.
It must also be road worthy (if travelling on the road), in good condition with all functions and safety devices fitted and in good working as per the manufactures instructions.
Candidates will receive formal training on
- Safe system of work for isolation and starting procedures of the equipment
- Safety devices fitted and functioning
- Engine and associated fluid checks
- Daily maintenance for the equipment
- Tyre pressure and condition checks
- Weight loadings GVW and axle weights (if appropriate)
- Access and egress
- Yours and your employers responsibilities under current relevant legislation
This course meets the statutory requirements of the relevant legislation, whether local or UK, and other relevant statutory provisions and approved Codes of Practice.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based tutorials and practical exercises. You will be assessed through theory and practical tests. All of our trainers are accredited.
The non-equipment based courses can normally accommodate 6 candidates depending on the course and level of experience.
As with all of our courses, we ask if the candidates can read and understand English. We can provide a translator for the entire course or just for the theory if necessary, but there is an extra charge and we need to know this at the booking stage.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATION
Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded a 4safety certificate.

Novice: 2 hours
Re-certification: 2 hours

COST
